Scene consists of people carrying Livingstone's body, attached to a long pole which is balanced on their shoulders. The scene is signed 'Ernest Prater' at the bottom. This slide is from a set of slides on 'The Life and Work of David Livingstone' produced by the London Missionary Society around 1900. Typed top edge label states: "Faithfulness of car[rier]". Handwritten label across the bottom of the slide : "Carrying the body to the coast".
