Map: Lancashire. Coloured map with latitude and longitude marked around the edge. The map is very rich in detail including cities, place names, rivers and mountains. Castles, mountains and significant buildings are illustrated by drawings. Boundaries are denoted by coloured lines. Top right is a large ornate cartouche containing the title and the words: 'By Eman Bowen, Geogr. to his Majesty'. Beneath this another ornate cartouche contains the dedication: 'To the Right Hon.ble Edwd. Stanley Earl of Derby, Lord Lieutenant for the County of Lancaster. This map is dedicated by His Lordship's most humble & obed.t Servt. Eman Bowen. Around the map are paragraphs giving statistical and historical data about the area, also information about the Earls and Dukes of Lancaster, and the various seats of nobility. Printed along the bottom is: 'London. Printed for R Wilkinson 58 Cornhill, Laurie & Whittle 53 Fleet Street and Bowles & Carver 69 St Pauls Church Yard.'
