Bequests from the Last will and testament of Enriqueta Rylands. In Clause 'ae' she leaves the sum of one thousand pounds to her adopted daughter, Maria Castiglioni Rylands. In previous wills Maria was to inherit larger sums. The widow of William Linnell inherits six thousand pounds. William Linnell was a senior director of Rylands & Sons. He advised Mrs Rylands during the building of the John Rylands Library and was a trustee from 1899 until his death in 1901.
