Ceiling boss in the John Rylands Library, Deansgate, Manchester. In the centre is the Lancashire rose. The bosses were cleaned and repaired as part of a major refurbishment of the original building during 2004-2006. The Library was built by Enriqueta Augustina Rylands in memory of her husband John, a Manchester cotton millionaire. It opened to the public on 1st January 1900.
