Title page with engraving of John Clare engraved by Edward Scriven from a painting by William Hilton II. The original portrait is in the National Portrait Gallery. This copy of Clare's 'The Village Minstrel' was previously owned by the poet Edmund Blunden. In 1920 Blunden edited a collection of Clare's poetry.
