Print 58: Officers of the Sydney Royal Mint (1/ J. Tricket, Coiner; 2/ J. MacCutcheon, clerk bullion officer; 3/ Gilchrist, [?] clerk; 4/ Drummond, clerk; 5/ R. Hunt, Melter; 6/ Knipe, Accountant; 7/ H.A. Severn, Clerk to Tricket; 8/ Newton; 9/ W.S.J.; 10/ F.B. Miller; 11/ Bolton). Print 59: Hyde Park Corner, from the verandah of the Royal Mint, Sydney, N.S.W. showing also St James' church and of Hyde Park houses in Elizabeth Street, some of Central Police Courts in George Street. The photographs are in a collection of photographs of Australia, taken or compiled by William Stanley Jevons during the 1850s. Between 1854-1859 Jevons was employed as assayer at the Sydney mint and also carried out detailed social surveys of the city's slums.
