A collection of photographs of Australia, taken or compiled by William Stanley Jevons during the 1850s. Between 1854-1859 Jevons was employed as assayer at the Sydney mint and also carried out detailed social surveys of the city's slums. An addendum to the title-page reads "Given to Herbert Stanley Jevons on his birthday October the 8th 1894 by his loving aunt Lucy A. Hutton".
