Iron Works, Colebrook Dale, (now Coalbrookdale). In the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries Coalbrookdale had the highest concentration of iron works in the world along its riverbank. There is still an operational foundry there today. The drawings were made expressly for this publication by P.J. de Loutherbourg; the book includes historical and descriptive accounts of the several places of which views are given. Engraved by William Pickett, and coloured by John Clark.
