Full goatskin over wooden boards with grooved edges; multiple fillets and tooling to form a border; raised headcaps at top and bottom of spine with a double row of sewn headbands; remains of four leather ties at top, bottom and fore-edge of lower board; the upper board-edges have holes for pins onto which ties or clasps would catch; all edges are gilt and gauffered with dots and floral motifs; top edge has letters D; bottom edge has three interlaced crescents; fore-edge has the letter H.
