First is the news that Miss Oakeley the current Warden will soon be leaving Manchester and that she will be greatly missed. Former Ashburnians, Miss Phillips and Miss Parker are thanked for their contributions to the edition. It is noted that there has been some complaint of the 'unliterary character' of the magazine in recent editions which it is expressed that the contributors have the power to remedy themselves. The Editorial closes with a wish for good holidays to all the readers. The articles begin on folio two with 'An Apology for this Chronicle and Past Chronicles', by Hilda Diana Oakeley, Opposite this on folio three is an 'Ode', complete with notes, penned by 'William Wordsworthness'. On the verso is the beginning of the report of the Old Ashburnians annual meeting, submitted by Elizabeth Parker, former Ashburnian and current Secretary. Following on folio six is a short 'Miscellaneous' piece signed E. Brodie. Next is a travel account of Mount Tai, Shandong (China) by E. Margaret Phillips, there are numerous photographs accompanying the text. On the verso of folio nine is a short piece 'On Exams' by J.J. Smith, a note underneath states that the prize for the literary competition has been awarded to J.J. Smith and the prize for the photographic Competition to K.H. Coward. This is followed on the verso of folio ten by an article titled 'Some thoughts of a Third year'. Directly after is a folio of photographs, captioned with the name of the contributor. The final item is the 'Honours' list on folio twelve, which also details scholarships and prizes.
