Description:
|
An artist's rendition of treadmill scene is followed by a short article by Joseph Sturge describing the operation of it. This is followed by an appeal to the 'Women of Great Britain' to contribute to the appeal to end the oppressive practice of slavery. Subscriptions are to be sent to: the Glasgow Ladies' Emancipation Society, Mrs Nelson, Port-Dundas (Glasgow) or one of the secretaries - Miss Smeal, 161 Gallowgate (Glasgow). There follows an 'Appeal to the Ladies of Great Britain' in the form of a rhyming six stanza poem.
