Description:
|
A lease for life by William Shaw, a gentleman from the parish of Wilmslow. Lease for life was a form of tenure on the Dunham Massey estates from the seventeenth century, when it replaced copyhold or tenancy at will, until the mid-nineteenth century. There is a red wax seal at the foot of the charter.
