Dante Alighieri 'La Commedia' (Commentator: Christophorus Landinus). Contains: Marsilius Ficinus: Ad Dantem gratulatio [Latin & Italian]. ISTC No.: id00029000. Folio. 20 copper engravings are known, from designs by Botticelli, to accompany the first 19 Cantos of the Inferno. Contains Inf. 2.1 - Inf. 2.9. Commentator by Cristoforo Landino on Inf. 1-2. The second canto begins in the second half of the page. The text of the poem is found on the left hand side of the page, surrounded by the Commentator. The title of the canticle is found in the top margin of the page. Copper engraving at the end of Commentator for Inf. 1. Initials in red and blue ink.
