Description:
Bound in solid oak boards with pigskin back and brass claps printed on hand-made paper. Designed by Percy Smith and made by the Dorian Workshop and Studio in association with Waterlow & Sons Limited, London, 1930. These Tablets set out the chief events connected with the history of Bristol Methodism from 1739-1790 and describe the appointment of Francis Asbury to America and the Ordinations of 1784. Includes portrait of John Wesley, painted by Robert Hunter and engraved by James Watson. Privately printed for E.S. Lamplough.
