Description:
View of St Mary's Gate, Manchester, which is incorrectly labelled as St Ann's Place. The distinctive Baroque turret tower at the north-west corner of the Royal Exchange building can be clearly seen. The wide road is cobbled and there is a tall, ornamented street light where St Mary's Gate forms a cross road with Exchange Street and Cathedral Street. On the left of the print a sign for the Tea and Coffee Merchants, Robert Roberts & Co. can be seen on the Victoria Buildings. There are pedestrians milling around the area, mostly blurry figures in the distance.
