View of St. Ann's Square, Manchester. Looking down the cobbled square towards the Royal Exchange building, the back of the Marshall Wood statue of Richard Cobden, raised after his death in 1865 can be clearly seen. Cobden a former MP for Stockport, was known or being one of the founders of the Anti-Corn Law League. Many of the businesses have fabric awnings extending over the pavement and horse-drawn carriages are parked all around the square.
