Description:
|
Interior view of the day room in the female chronic block, Menston Asylum. A large room with a wooden floor and lots of light from high windows. There are drapes around the windows, a picture on the wall and lots of potted plants decorating the room. An upright piano can be seen next to one of the windows, close to the piano there is a large circular table with chairs around it. A lady is sat reading next to the tiled fireplace, which has an upholstered easy chair in front of it. In the foreground is an oval shaped table, with billiard size balls on it, possibly a small-scale billiards table, or similar for recreation.
