Description: 
View of the Observatory at Stonyhurst College. Classically styled octagonal stone observatory, with four projecting pedimented wings, designed by Mr Tuach of Preston and built in 1838. The observatory was used for astronomical and meteorological studies. A figure using scientific instruments can be seen to the left of the building and a telescope is positioned to the right of the entrance. The lily pond visible in front of the observatory has a lead statue of Regulus on a stone base set in the centre.
