Description:
|
Interior view of the entrance hall at Mowbray House, Norfolk Street, London. A door with glass panels to the side of the main entrance is visible along with a half landing staircase. The staircase has an ornate cast iron balustrade and a decorative cast iron lamp topping the half landing newel post. There is a rug at the foot of the staircase. The Bedford Lemere daybook lists the architect as John Dunn. During his career the journalist and English newspaper editor W. T Stead occupied an office in Mowbray House. There are some tiny flaws in the print itself, likely sustained in the printing process rather than a flaw to the original plate or negative.
