Description: 
Three women stand in a wooded area, two are dressed in breeches and jumpers, the other in a smock. Two are wearing slouch hats, which have badges in the centre front. Two of the women are working at a stone wheel sharpeningand hte third leans on a wooden prop with saws. The Women's Forestry Service was started by Miss Rosamund Crowdy as a section of the Land Army. It was set up under theTimber Supply Department, part of the Board of trade in 1917. Training camps for cutting and measuring the timber wereheld at several locations, including Wendover.
