Lock of golden hair in the case opposite a hand-coloured daguerreotype portrait of a fair-haired, bearded young man. The hair and image are set into a round gilt locket with a hanging ring. The locket engraved on each side with decorative patterns, a town scene on one side and the name 'Julia' on the other.
