The Spinning Room in the main UMIST building on Sackville Street; the image is shot diagonally across the room to include a number of large metal framed industrial spinning machines which dominate the centre of the chamber each containing numerous reels of cotton. The Spinning Room was located centrally on floor A of the structure to the north of the Mechanical Engineering Workshop.
