Description:
The Whitworth Hall exterior; Taken at ground level from the eastern side of Oxford Road close to the junction with Dover Street the shot is angled north west towards the corner of Oxford Road and Burlington Street. It shows the corner of the Old student’s Union building (Since demolished) just visible in the foreground beyond which rises the Hall. At the bottom of the picture is printed “The University of Manchester” and on the reverse is an attached list of the vehicles that are visible on the image. Beneath this has been written “P/card of Univ on Oxford Rd 1940s Mrs Thiede”.
