Black and white image of the interior of the laboratory for practical classes in morbid histology in the old medical School (Now Coupland 3). The shot, taken from one end of the laboratory (in the old Medical School), is angled to show a full classroom with students working at the lab benches which run in three rows along the length of the chamber. They are watched over by an unidentified member of staff who is looking on from a central position facing the pupils at the front of the room. Each of the students has a microscope and there are various other pieces of scientific apparatus on the desks. Beneath the image the following is printed "The pathological department laboratory for practical classes in morbid histology".
