Coupland Street; Shot at ground level from the northern side of the street angled south east towards the western frontage of the John Owens building. The image also shows the Levenstein lab which was demolished in 1911 to make room available for the construction of the botany wing which extended the western frontage of the Owens building across the site that the lab had previously occupied. Beyond these to the east can be seen the Beyer building from the north west corner of which protrudes a line of wrought iron railings running westward down the southern side of the street separating the University grounds from the thoroughfare of Coupland Street. These have since been removed and between the Owens building and Coupland and there is now merely a gap providing access to the rear quadrangle.
