Legal document, presumably letter that was written by the prosecuting side and deals with a family matter that is to be submitted to the decision of the consul in the diwan: it concerns one Jew (wahid yahudi) whose deceased cousin, who was very poor (faqir al-Hal) married the mother of the writer (?). Because of the repeated reference to the man's poor means, it seems the basis for this letter is the inheritance of money or property. The text is torn in the middle, so perhaps some of the important details are found there (the names concerned etc.).
