A copy of the agreement made between King Stephen and Henry II in 1153 by which it was arranged that Stephen would remain king for life, and that Henry should succeed him upon his death. Written by a smaller hand but at the same date. Large initial 'S' in red ink introduces the text. Annotations in margin added at a later date.

The MS. has been twice numbered previously: firstly , 21-61, by a sixteenth-century hand, which also added a brief contents-list on a fly-leaf, showing that the missing ff. 1-20 contained the laws of Canute and Alfred; secondly, 46-87, by a seventeenth-century hand.
