Description:
Depicted is a six winged angel, roughly drawn. Its wings and the five feathers in each are inscribed. The image is framed by a border within which is an inscription in red and green. Below is a title in red: 'tractatus de sex alis', and a piece of text in two columns in a small hand of the 13th century, commencing: 'Prima ala est confessio non laudis...', and ending: '...sine presumptione sine alterius comparatione. Simplex'. The tract is variously ascribed to St. Augustine, to Bonaventura, to Alanus de de Insulis, and to Clement of Lanthony.
