Manuscript of 'Roman de la Rose'. The manuscript is incomplete with the last few pages missing, the text breaks off at V,1.21008. There are four small miniatures on ff. 7, 22, 87 and 87v. The miniature on 87v depicts Jean de Meun, the continuer of the poem, at work. The small treatise on ff. 2-4 is anonymous but has been attributed by M. Ernest Langlois to Richard de Fournival. The volume has a blue leather binding with gold tooling round the edges and John Rylands monogram.
