Vortigern asks Merlin why the castle he is building will not stand. Merlin tells him that two dragons, one white, one red live in a lake below the foundations of the castle and that they destroy the castle by fighting. The written space is c.197 x 118 mm in a good secretary hand which is the same throughout.
