Description:

Vellum roll on mounted cloth. The subject is the Tree of Salvation, and the sequence runs from the bottom to top of the tree. (34) To the left of the central stem are two medallions: (a) Joseph's coat shown to Jacob, and (b) The Deposition. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: (c) the entombment, and (d) Isaac buries Abraham. (35) In the central stem of the tree is Eliciam holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: (a) Samson and the gates of Gaza, and (b) the harrowing gates of Hell. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: (c) The Resurrection, and (d) Jonah cast up by a fish. (36) In the central stem of the tree is Azor holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: (a) the dead man raised by Elisha's bones, and (b) the saints rising with Christ. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: (c) Christ appearing to the Virgin, and (d) Elijah restores her son to the widow. (37) In the central stem of the tree is Sadoch holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: (a) the angel appearing at Bochim, and (b) the angel and the women. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: (Christ as a gardener, and the Shunammite at Elisha's feet.
