Description:
Vellum roll on mounted cloth. The subject is the Tree of Salvation, and the sequence runs from the bottom to the top of the tree. This section of the Tree of Salvation has suffered considerable damage. The section on the left contains medallions depicting: Job, his wife and friends; Christ mocked (bottom row); creation of Eve; Death of Abel. The circle on the right contains medallions depicting: Christ bearing the cross; Isaac carries the wood and Abraham the sword; The sacrifice of Isaac and the Brazen serpent. Across the top of this section is a composition illustrating the Crucifixion, which extends across the whole breadth of the roll.
