Description:
Vellum roll on mounted cloth. The subject is the Tree of Salvation, and the sequence runs from the bottom to top of the tree. (16) In the central stem of the tree is Salomon holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: (a) Tobias catching fish, and (b) the miraculous draught of fishes. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: (c) a nobleman's son being healed, and (d) Hezekiah healed: sun and sundial above. (17) In the central stem of the tree is Roboam holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: (a) Elisha casting salt in to the wells at Jericho, and (b) Jesus healing the sick and casting out the devils. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: (c) the daughter of Jairus being raised from the dead, and (d) Elijah raising the widow's son from the dead. (18) In the central stem of the tree the ancestor is missing. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: (a) Abigail meeting David and kneeling before him, and (b) Mary Magadelene washing Christ's feet. On the right of the central stem (c) one medallion is missing, and (d) is the spies returning to Moses.
