Vellum roll on mounted cloth. The subject is the Tree of Salvation, and the sequence runs from the bottom to top of the tree. Poem written in red and black on a long label held by two angels at the ends. Enlarged capital 'P' in red. Above this is a band of brown ground. In the centre the tree rises. At its foot kneels a bishop. On the left and right kneel eight figures: those on the left (reading from the left) are: Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah and David. Those on the right (reading from right to left) are: Ezekiel, Daniel, Job (with spots on him) and Solomon. All hold prophecies. These kneeling figures are separated by eight large leaves growing out of the ground, inscribed with the mysteries of our Lord's life. Above these are eight half-length figures with labels. On the left, the four Latin doctors: Augustine, Ambrose, Jerome and Gregory. On the right: Gregory, Nazianzen, Chrysotom, Athanasius and Basil. (1) In the central stem of the tree is an angel holding a scroll. To the left of the central stem are two medallions: God showing Moses the Heavenly Tabernacle, and (b) the Angel appearing to Joachim among the shepherds. On the right of the central stem are two medallions: (c) the birth of the Virgin, and (b) Mordecai's vision of a fountain and the sun.
