Prologue to the Friar's Tale: the text begins with an illuminated initial 'T' on pink and blue grounds with short marginal sprays. The script is in black and red ink and lines and borders are ruled in black. There are 36-38 lines per page. Written in England in one hand, the dialect and spelling include a significant number of West Midland and North Midland forms.
