Description:
Siege of Troy. Book five: Ulysses (Odysseus) and his men escape the lure of the sirens by stopping their ears with wax so the siren's singing cannot be heard. Ulysses then anchors at Phaeacia where his men are slain and his ship plundered. Ulysses tells all this to King Idomeneus (Idumeus) who comforts Ulysses and gives him gold and ships. Ulysses continues to journey home stopping to visit King Alphenon where he hears about his faithful wife Penelope who is waiting for him in Ithaca. There is an illuminated initial 'A' in the text. The written space is 305 x 200 mm, 2 columns and 44 lines and the script is anglicana formata by two hands.
