Description:
Siege of Troy. Book two: A great river, the Xanthus, runs through the city and the water is piped in to keep the streets clean and free of disease. Priam gathers people from nearby places to inhabit the new city and makes them citizens. At night in honour of Mars there are tournaments, wrestling and chess. Lydgate notes that people differ in their opinion about the origin of the game of chess. The written space is 305 x 200 mm, 2 columns and 44 lines and the script is anglicana formata by two hands.
