The words ' Edward 3 ' appear in the top margin. The tale of storms at sea as King Edward returns to England. He sends words to the Scots that he will fight them, but they flee. King Edward makes his eldest son, Edward, Prince of Wales. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

tayn and ther was so grete forþf for vitailles that he lost meny of hys peple and whan he had do ther that he come for. he dressyd hym ou(er)e þe see in to England ward and as he sayled toward England in the hye see the moost myshappes stormes & tempestes thundres and lightnynges fell to hym in the see the which was sayd that it was done and aroysed thurgh evil spirites made be sorcery & nygromauncye of hem of Fraunce wherfore the kynges hert was full of sorow and angwysshe weylyng and sighyng and seyd vnto oure lady on þis wyse O blyssid lady seynt Mary what is þe cause þat eu(er)more goyng into Fraunce all thynges and weders fallen to me ioyfull and lykyng & gladsum and as J wold haue hem / but alway turnyg into Englondward all thynges fallen vnprofitable and harne- Full Neu(er)thelatter he scaping all p(er)illes of the see as god wold come be nyght to the toure of Londou(~) and same ȝeer þe kyng held hys crystenmes atte Menros and sent word to the Scottys by hys messagers that he was redy and wold fight w(t) hem but the scttes wold nott abyde that. but fledden oure the scottys see and hyd hem as wele as þei myght / And in the xvij ȝeer of hys regne about the feest of Conu(er)sion of seynt Poul kyng Edeward whan he be had be in Scotteland & sawe the Scottes wer fledde he come aȝeen into England and alityll afor lentyn was the turnement att dunstaple to the whych turnemente come all the ȝung bachalrye and chyualrye of England whyt meny Erles and other lordes at þe which tur nement þe kyng hym self was ther p(re)sent // And the next ȝeer folowyng in the xviij. ȝeer of hys regne at hys p(ar)lement holden att Westm(inster) in the quynȝisme of Pasche kyng Edeward the thrid made Edwad hys ferst bygeten sone pryns of Valys & in the xix ȝeer of hys regne a non after Jn Januer by fore lente the same kyng Edeward lete make full noble iustes and grete festes in the place of hys berthe atte Wyndesore that þer weryn neu(er) non such sene þ(er) afor att which feest
