peple diu(er)s letteres an maundementes beryng date atte Gandau(~) the viij ȝeer day of February and anon after w(t) jn a litill tyme he come aȝeen into Englond w(t) the qwene and ther childryn and in the same ȝeer on midsom(er) eve he be gan to Sayle toward Fraunce aȝeen & manly & stifly fyll vp on Philip of Valeys the which long tyme lay and had gaderid to hym a full houge and boustous nauy of diu(er)s nacions in the hauen of Sklus and ther þai foghten to gider the kyng of Fraunce and he wyth her oostes fro midday vnto the thrid hour in the morne in which batayll were slayne. xxx M(l). men of þe kynges cu(~)pany of Fraunce and many shippes and cogges wher taken. and so thurght goddys helpe he had ther the victorye and bere thens a glorious chyualrye // And in þe same ȝeer about seynt James tyde with out þe ȝates of saynt Omers Rob(er)t of artheys with men of England & of Fraunce flandres bytterly faught aȝens þe duke of Burgoyne and þe frensshmen. att wich batayll ther wher slayne and take of the Frensshmen xv. barons.
