body ȝif he mighte in eny man(er)e // þo p(ra)yede he þe king þ(t) he wolde g(ra)unte him of his g(ra)ce S(ir) Edward Bailloles body vnto þe nexte p(ar)leme(~)t þ(t) he mighte lyue w(t) his owene renteȝ in þe mene time: and þat he moste stande to ben iuged by his pieres at þe p(ar)leme(~)t // þ(e) king g(ra)untede him his p(ra)yer and ma de þe forsaide S(ire) Edwarde ben delyu(er)ede out of p(ri)soun in þ(e) man(er)e aboue saide: and anon as he was oute of p(ri)soun: S(ir) Henry tok him forth wiþ him & ladde him in to Engelonde and made hy(~) duelle p(ri)ueleche at a maner(e) of Sandhall op Ouse in York shir(e) w(t) þe lady. vesty: and so he ordeignede him þ(er)e an huge reti- naunce of peple. of Englisshe men and also of Alienes for to conquere aȝen his heritage // And so he ȝaf muche seluer vnto Soudiours and to Alienes for to helpe him and þey by- highte him for to helpe him in al þ(t) þey mighte. but þey fail lede him at his moste nede and at þat time Donalde erl of Morref herde telle how þ(t) S(ir) Edwarde was p(ri)uyly come in to Engelonde: and come to him and made w(t) him gret ioye of his comyng aȝen. and saide to him and bihighte þ(t) alle þe grete of Engelonde shulde ben to him entendaunt and shulde him holde for hire king as right heire of Scotlonde and so muche þey wolde done þ(t) he shulde be crouned king of þat lande and dede to him feaute and homage // þo com S(ir) Henry of Beamunde to þe king Edward of Engelonde & p(ra)yede him in waye of charite þat he wolde g(ra)unte of his g(ra)ce vnto S(ire) Edward Bailloil. þ(t) he most safliche gon by lande fro Sandhall vnto Scotlande for to co(~)quere his right herita- ge in Scotlande // þe king Edward ansuerde & saide vnto him ȝif þat y suffre þe Baillol wende þorugh my lande to- ward Scotlande: þan þe peple wolde seye þat he shulde be assentinge vnto þ(e) co(~)panye // Now S(ire) y p(ra)y ȝov þ(t) ȝe wolde g(ra)unte him leue to take vnto him soudiours of Englisshe men þ(t) þey myghte saufly lede hy(~) þorugh ȝoure lande in to Scotlande. and S(ire) vppon þis couenau(~)t þ(t) yif it so bifalle þ(t) god it forbede þat þey ben descomfitede in bataile þoȝugh
