Rob(er)t of Hamull. S(ir) Edmund quoþ he sith þ(t) ȝe haue made knowynge openliche in þis court þat þis is ȝour lettre en- sealed w(t) ȝoure seal and þe teno(ur) of þe l(ett)re is. that ȝe wolde haue ben aboute for to haue delyu(er)ed þe body of þat worship- ful knyȝt S(ir) Edward sum time king of Engelond ȝoure broþ(er) and for to haue holpen him þat he shulde haue be king aȝene and gou(er)ne his peple as he was woned bifore times in empeirynge of oure liege lord þe king(es) estate . þat is now wham god kepe fram alle dissese // And þis Court wile þ(t) ȝe ben vndone of lyf and lyme and þ(t) ȝour heires bene disheritede for eu(er)more: saf þe g(ra)ce of oure lord þe king. þo was þe erl S(ir) Edmund of Woodestoke pult aȝen in to p(ri)soun vnder ful sauf warde til vppon þe morne: And þo come þe Mortym(er) vnto þe king þ(er)e þat he sat at his mete and tolde him how þe erl was dampned by weye of lawe & also of lif and lyme and his heires disheritede for eu(er)more þorugh open knoweleching in playne court wherfore him þoughte it were good þat þe forsaide erl were hastely q(ue)lde w(t)oute wyting of þe king for elles þe king wolde forȝeue him his deth and þat shulde turne ham vnto moche sorwe so as he was enpechede // Anon þe Quene Jsabell. þorugh counseil of þe Mortimer and wiþoute ony oþer counceile sente in haste to þe baillifes of Wynchestr(e) þ(t) þey shulde smyte of S(ir) Edmund(es) hed of Wodestoke erl of Kent w(t)oute eny man(er) abidyng or resipte vppon payne of lif and lyme // þo nomen þe baillifs sir Ede- mund out of p(ri)soun. and lad him bisides þe castel at Wyn- chestr(e) and þ(er)e þey made a gonge fermere smyte of his heuede for non oþ(er) man derste it done and so deide he þ(er)e allas þe time þat is to sein þe .x(e). day of Octobr(e) þe þrid de ȝer of king Edwardus regne.
