Queen Isabelle and Roger Mortimer persuade King Edward that the Earl of Lancaster is against him. They then ride with a great host to destroy the Earl. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

Js(abel). þorugh coniectinge and sotilte and also of þe Mortimer lete ordeigne a p(ar)leme(~)t at Salesbery & at þe same p(ar)leme(~)t þe Mortymer was made erl of þe March aȝens alle þe Barouns wille of Engelonde in p(re)iudice of þe king and of his coroune: and S(ir) John of Elth(a)m þe kinges broþ(er) was gerde w(t) a suerde of Cornewaile and þo was callede erl of Cornewaile/: and eu(er)more þe Quene. Js(abel). somuche p(ro)curede aȝen hir sone þe king þ(t) ȝhe had þe warde of þ(e) forsay- de S(ir) Edward and of his landes // And at þ(t) p(ar)leme(~)t þe erl of lancastr(e) wolde nouȝt come: but ordeignede al hire poer aȝens þe quene. Is(abel). and þ(e) Mortim(er) and men of Londou(~) or- deignede ham for to helpe w(t) .vj.C. me(~) of armeȝ // Whanne þe Quene .Is(abel). wiste of þe doynge: she suore by god and by his names ful ang(er)ly þat in euel time he þoughte vppon þo poyntȝ // þo sente þe Quene .Is(abel). & þe Mortym(er) aft(er) hir retenue so þat þey had ordeynede amo(~)g(es) ham an huge ost: and þey counceilede þe king so þ(t) vppon a nyght þey riden xxiiij .mile. toward Bedford þ(er)e þat þe erl of lancastr was w(t) his co(~)paignye. and þoughte haue him destroied. and þ(t) nyght she rode bisides þ(e) king hire sone as a knyght ar med for drede of deth // And it was done þe king Edward to vndirstonde þ(t) þ(e) erl Henr(e) of lancastr(e) and his co(~)panye wolde haue dest(ro)yed þe king and his counceil for eu(er)more. wherfore þe king was somdel towardes Henr(e) wroth and annoyed // Whanne þ(e) erl Mareschal and þe erl of kent þe king(es) broþ(er) herde(~) þis þing: þey riden so in message bituene ham þ(t) þe king g(ra)untede him his pees to þ(e) erl.
