saide soth allas þe time. ffor king Edward þat was king Ed wardes sone þ(t) was borne at Carnariuan in Wales for soþ(e) he hadde hornes as siluer: and a berd as snaw whanne he was made p(ri)nce of Walys and to muche he ȝaf him vn to reaute and to folye // And soþ saide M(er)lyn in his p(ro)phecie þ(t) þ(er)e shulde come out of his nose a dop for in his time was gret hunger among þe poure men and strong deth among þe riche þ(t) deide in st(ra)unge lande w(t) muche sorwe and in wer(e) in Scotlande and afterward he loste Scotlande and Gascoig ne and whiles þ(t) him self was king: þ(er)e was much lecche rye hauntede // And also Merlyn tolde & saide þ(t) þis goot shulde seche þe flo(ur) of lyf and of deth and he said soth for he spousede .Is(abel). þe kinges dought(er) of ff(ra)unce // And in his ty me M(er)lyn saide þat þ(er)e shulde ben made brigges of folc vppon diches of þe see and þ(t) was ful wel sene at Banno- kesbo(ur)ne. in Scotlande whanne he was descomfited þ(er)e of þ(e) Scottys // And M(er)lyn tolde also þat stoones shulde falle fram Castell and manye tounes shulde be made playne and he saide soth for whanne king Edward was descom fited in Scotland and came þo southward þe Scottis bisege de castell and dede ham muche harme and brente tounes vnto þ(e) harde erthe. // And aft(er)ward M(er)lyn tolde þ(t) an egle shulde come out of Cornewayle þat shulde haue feþ(er)es of goolde þat of pride shulde haue no pier and shuldes des pise lordshipes of blood and after he shulde dye þorugh a bere at Gauersiche. and þat p(ro)phecie was ful wel knowe & founde soþ: ffor by þe Egle is vndirstande S(ir)e Pieres of Gauastou(~) þat was erl of Cornewaile þ(t) was a wonder p(ro)ut man þat despisede þe Baronage of Engelonde but aftir- ward he was biheded at Gau(er)siche þorugh þe Erl of Lancastr(e) and þe erl of Warwyk // And M(er)lyn tolde þ(t) in his time it shulde seme þ(t) þe Bere shulde brenne: and þ(t) a bataile shul- de be done vppon an arme of þe see. in a feld arrayede lik a shelde where shulde die menye white hedes and he seide
