Description: 
The words 'Edward 2' are written in the top margin. The tale of how many serious charges are brought against the King by the bishops, barons and knights of England, who tell him that they are no longer loyal to him, and no longer wish him to be their king. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' O ' introduce the tale of Merlyn's prophecy about King Edward II. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

haue vndone menye grete lordeȝ of Engelonde w(t)outen ony cause. but now ȝe be wiþstande þanked be god: and also for enchesou(~) þ(t) ȝe wolde nouȝt come to þe p(ar)leme(~)t as ȝe ordeynede at Westm(inster). as in ȝoure owene l(et)re patent is conteyned for to trete w(t) ȝoure liege men as a king shulde: and þ(er)fore þorugh alle þe comune assent of alle þe lordeȝ of Engelonde y telle vnto ȝow þise wordes // ȝe shulleth vndirstande S(ir)e þat þe Barouns of Engelond at on assent wile þat ȝe ben no more king of Engelond but outreliche haueþ pult ȝow out of ȝour(e) roialte for eu(er)more // And þe Bisshop of Ely saide þo to þ(e) king Sire Edward here y ȝelde vp feaute and homage for alle þe Erchebisshopes and Bisshopes of Engelonde and for alle þe Clergye // þo saide S(ir) Joh(a)n. Erl of Garrenne.
