The words ' Edward I ' are written in the top margin. The tale of the uprising in Scotland against King Edward, led by Robert the Bruce, who would be King of Scotland. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' L ' intoduce the tale of how Sir John of Comyn does not want to break his oath to King Edward. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' W ' intoduce the tale of how Robert the Bruce sends Sir John of Comyn's two brothers to bring him to him. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

of þe lande: and þe lordes come at þe day assignede // And at þe same day S(ire) Rob(er)t þe Brus. saide: faire lordes ful wel ȝe weteth þat in my p(er)sone duelleth þe right of þe reaume of Scotlande and as ȝe witet wel as rightful heire siþ(e) þat S(ire) Joh(a)n Baillol þat was oure king vs hath forsake and also lefte his lande // And þouȝ hit so be þat king Edwarde of Engelonde w(t) wrongful poer hath made me to him assente aȝens my wille yif þat ȝe wile g(ra)unte þat y be king of Scotland. y shal kepe ȝow aȝens king Edwarde and aȝens alle manere men // And with þat worde þe Abbot of Scone aros and bifore ham alle saide þat it is resoun for to helpe him and þe lande to kepe & defende and þo saide in p(re)sence of ham alle þ(t) he wolde ȝeue him a M(l). pounde for to mayntene þ(t) lande and alle þe othere g(ra)untede þe lande to him and w(t) her(e) poer him for to helpe & defiede king Edwarde of Engelonde and saide þ(t) Robert þe Brus shulde be king of Scotlande How S(ir) Joh(a)n of Comyn gayn saide þe crounyng of S(ir) Robert þe Brus.
