Description:
The words ' Edward I ' are written in the top margin. The tale of the taking of Stirling castle. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' T ' introduce the tale of how King Edward introduces Trailbaston, and through forfeitures, regains much revenue. King Edward imprisons his own son, Edward. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

scottes non harme for þe Castel was so stronge and wel kepte // And king Edward saugh þat and thought him vp on a queyntise and lete make anon þere .ij. peir of hie gal- wes bifore þe tour of þe Castel and made his oth þat as many as were in þe castel were he erl or Baroun and he were take w(t) strengthe but ȝif he wolde þe raþ(er)e him ȝelde he shulde ben honged vppo(~) þe galwes // And whanne þo þ(t) were in þe Castel herde þis þey come and ȝelde ham alle to þe kinges m(er)cy and grace and þe king forȝaf ham al his male ta- lent and þ(er)e were alle þe grete lordes of Scotland sworne to king Edwarde þat þey shulde come to Londou(~) to eu(er)y p(ar)leme(~)t & shulde stande to hi(re) ordinau(~)c(e) How Troillebastou(~) was ferst ordeyned [...] Ca(o).
