Description:
The words ' Edward I ' are written in the top margin. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' W ' introduce the tale of how King Edward returns to England and drives the Jews out for their misbelief and false usury. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial ' H ' introduce the tale of a challenge to the throne of Scotland. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

Of þe redressing þ(t) king Edward made of his justicȝ & of his clerk(es) þ(t) þey had don for hir(e) falsnesse. & how he drof þe gewis out of Engelond for hir vsurie & mysbileue. C(o). C(mo). octogesio.v(to). Whanne king Edward had duelled .iij. ȝere in Gaiscoigne wil come aȝen to him for to wende in to Engelond. and þo he was comen aȝen. he fonde so manye playnteȝ y made to him of his justiceȝ and of his clerk(es) þat had done so manye wronges and falsnesseȝ þ(t) wonder it was for to here // And for such falsnesse; S(ire) Thom(a)s of Weylonde þ(e) king(es) justice for- suore engelonde at þe tour of londou(~). for falsnesse þat men pulte vppon him wher of he was teynt and p(ro)ued fals // and anon aft(er) whanne þe king had don his wille of þe Justices þo lete he enquere and aspye how þe gewys (desceyuede) descey- uede and bigilede his peple þorugh hire synne of falsnesse & of vsurye and lete ordeigne a p(ri)ue p(ar)leme(~)t among his lordes and þey ordeynede among(es) ham : þat alle þe gewis shulde voy de engelond // for hire misbileue and also for hire false vsu rye. þat þey deden vnto c(ri)stene men // And for to speede and make an ende of þis þing al þe co(~)munete of Engelond ȝeue to þe king þe viftiþe peny of all hire goodes meble. and so were þe Gewis dryuen out of Engelond and þo wente þe Gewys in to ff(ra)unce and þ(er)e duellede þorugh leue of king Philipp þat þo was king of ff(ra)unce How king Edward was seised in al þe land of Scotland þorugh consente and g(ra)unt of all þ(e) lord(es) of Scotland Cap(o) Centesi(m)o. octogesi(m)o vj(to). Hjt was nouȝt longe after þat Alisaundre king of Scotland nas ded. and Dauid erl of Huntingdou(~) þ(t) was þe kynges broþ(er) of Scotlande axede and claymede þe kyngdome of Scotland. for enchesou(~) þ(t) he was rightful heir But manye grete lordes of Scotlond saiden nay. wherfore gret debate aros bituene ham and here frendes for as mu- che þ(t) þey wolde nought consente to his coronaciou(~). and in þe mene time þe forsaide Dauid deide // And so it bifel þat þat same Dauid had .iij doughtres þ(t) worthily were
