The words ' Edward I ' are written in the top margin. The tale of how Prince Lewelyn is persuaded by his brother David to again rise up against King Edward. The Welsh hold strong against the English and many English men drown. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

C. were atteynte of such manere falsnesse wherfore some were hongede and some drawe and aftirward hongede // And after warde þe king ordeignede þat þe sterling halpenye and ferthyng shulde gon þorugh out his lande and co(~)maundede þat no man fro þat day aftirward: ȝaf ne feffed hous of Religiou(~) with land ne tenement wiþoute special leue of þe king and he þat dede it shulde ben punisshede at þe kinges wille: and þe ȝifte shulde ben for nought // And it was nouȝt longe aft(er) þ(t) Lewelyn p(ri)nce of Walys þorugh ticement of Dauid his broþ(er) and by boþ(e) here consente þey þoughte disherite king Edward in as muche as þey mighte so þat þoruh ham boþe þe kinges pees was broken // And whanne king Edward herde þis: anon he sente his barou(~)s in to Northu(~)berlond and þe surreys also þat þey shulde gon and take here viage oppon þe traito(ur)s. Lewelyn and .Dauid and wonder hard was for to werre þo. for it is wynter in Wales whanne in oþ(er)e cuntrees it is somer. and Lewelyn lete ordeigne & wel arraye and vitaile his good castelle of Swandou(~) and was þ(er)in an huge nombr(e) of peple and plentee of vitaillȝ so þat king Edward wiste nouȝt where for to entre // And whanne þ(e) kinges men it p(er)ceyuede and also þe strengþ(e) of Walis: þey lete come in þe see bargeȝ and boteȝ and grete plankes as manye as þey mighte ordeigne and haue for to gon to þe forsaide cas tel of Swandou(~) with men on foote and eke in hors. but þe wasshe men had so muche peple and were so st(ro)nge þat þey dryuen þe Englisshe me(~) aȝen. so þat þ(er) was so muche p(re)sse of peple at þe tournynge aȝen þ(t) þe charge and þe berthene of ham made þe Bargeȝ and boteȝ sinke: and þere was drenched ful many a good knyght þat is to seyn S(ir) Rog(er) of Clifforde. S(ir) Wil liam of Lyndeseye þat was Joh(a)nes sone fitȝ Robert. and S(ire) Richard Tauny and an huge nombr(e) of oþ(er)e folc. and al was þorugh hire owene folye: for yf þat þey had hadde goode espres þey had nouȝt ben harmed // Whanne king Edward herde tel le þat his peple was so drenchede: he made sorwe y nowe // But þo come S(ir) Joh(a)n of Vessye fram þe king of Aragoun:
