The words 'Henry 3' are written in the top margin. There is a small hole in the vellum. The tale of how King Henry III marries Alienore, the Earl of (Prouynce) Provence's daughter. Red rubrication and an illuminated initial 'A' introduce the tale of how in addition to the Great Charter, King Henry also grants, at the request of the lords and barons, the Charter of the Forests. The written space is c.182 x 112 mm and the script is anglicana formata.

seyn .iiij(xx). men // And þo aftirward ffaukes him self was founde in a cherche of Couentre and þ(er)e he forswore al Enge- londe with muche shame and wente þo aȝen in to his owe- ne cuntre // And whiles þat king Henry regnede Edmunde of Abyngdou(~) þat was tresorer of Salesbery. was consacrede Erchebisshop of Caunterbery. And þis king Henry sente ouer see vnto þe Erl of Prouynce. þat he shulde sende him his doughter in to Engelonde þat me callede Alienore. and he wulde wedde hire and so she com in to Engelonde afte c(ri)stes masse and in þe morne after sent Hillary. þe Erchebisshop Edmund spousede ham togederes at Kaunterbery: and at þe. .viij. of sent Hillary sche was crouned at Westmynstr(e) with muche solempnyte: and þere was a swete sighte bituene ham þat is to seyn. Edmund þat was next king after him his broþ(er) flour of curtesye and of largesse and Margarete þ(t) was afterward quene of Scotland. and Beatrice þa was aftirward countesse of Britaigne and Kat(er)ine þat deide maide in religi- oun Of þe quinȝisine of goodes þat were g(ra)unted for þe newe chartres and of þe p(ro)ueaunce of Oxenforde [...] Ca(o) C(mo). lviij(o).
