After þe coronaciou(~) of king Henry. þe sone of king Henry þe Emp(er)esses sone þat same Henry þe Emp(er)esses sone wente ouer in to Normandye and þ(er)e he lete marie Elianor his dought(er) vnt Delfines þat was king of Almaigne. and in þe. vij. ȝer. þat þe Erchebisshop sent Thom(a)s had ben outlawede: þe king of ff(ra)unce made þ(e) king and sent Thom(a)s accorded: and þo come Thom(a)s þ(e) Erchebisshopp to Kaunt(er)bury aȝen in to his owene chirche and þis accorde was made in þe byginnynge of aduent and aftirward he was quelde and martred þe .v(e). day of C(ri)stes masse þat þo next come. ffor king Henry þought vppon sent Thom(a)s erchebis shop of kaunterbery vppon cristes masse day as he sat at his mete and þese wordes sayde. þat ȝif he had eny god knyȝt with him he had ben many a day avenged vppon þe Erchebisshop Thom(a)s // And anon S(ir)e Will(ia)m Bretoun(~) S(ir) Hughe Morvile. S(ir) Will(ia)m. Tracy. and S(ir) Regnald Fitȝvrse. Beres sone in Englissh p(ri)uely wente vnto þe see and comen in to Engelonde to þe chirche of Kaunt(er)bery and him þ(er)e þey martrede at sent Benettes aut(er) in þe mooder chirche and þat was in þe ȝere of Jncarnaciou(~) of Jhu(s) c(ri)st . M(l).C. lx.&.xij.ȝere // And anon after Henry þe newe king bigan for to make werre vppon king Henry his fader and eke vp on his breþ(er)en also // And so vppon a tyme þe king of ff(ra)unce and alle þe kinges sones and þe king of Scotlande and þe gretteste lordes of Engelond weren arisen aȝens þe Henry þe fader: and at þe laste as god wolde he conquered alle his enemys. and þe king of ff(ra)unce and he were accor dede. and þo sente king Henry þe fader specially vnto þ(e) king of ff(ra)unce and p(ra)yede him hertely for his loue þat he wolde sende to him by l(et)re þe names of ham þat bygon ne þe werre vppon him // And þe king of ff(ra)unce sente aȝen to him by a l(et)re þe names of ham þat bygonne þe werre. ferst was John his sone and Richard his broþ(er). and Henry his sone þe Newe king // þo was Henry þe king wonder
